It’s good news, bad news time.
First the bad news, salt water chlorinators are complex pieces of equipment that have a lot of parts that will tend to fail in the span of its lifetime.
Next, the good news. Mr Pool Man has anticipated all of this and we’ve stocked a wide range of salt water chlorinator parts so that you can get your salt water chlorinator back in top top condition in no time at all!
From PCB Boards, Labels, Leads, cables, housings, lock rings, replacement salt cells and even O-rings, if it’s a spare part for your salt water chlorinator, we’ll have it in stock and ready to ship. And if it’s not available on our online store page, don’t hesitate to drop us a line down below our contact page, we probably have it in our stockroom somewhere or if not, we’ll be happy to try and help you source it.
The key to a long lasting salt water chlorinator is proper maintenance and the thing you should keep your eye on are your salt water cells. Most chlorinator damage comes from poorly maintained (or not maintained at all!) salt cell. Build up of calcium and other mineral deposits on your salt water cell can cause your unit to be inefficient, or in some cases, cause your entire unit to overheat which can lead to your cables or PCB board burning out.
Be sure to check out our salt cell maintenance guide here to ensure that your chlorinator stays healthy all-year round.
Tip: If your salt water chlorinator’s PCB board has konked out and it’s also time to replace your salt cell, the added cost of those two parts can be well over 70% or 80% of a brand new chlorinator so sometimes, it does pay to just get a brand new salt water chlorinator! You’ll never know what other components might have become damaged and it may end up costing you more to repair in the years to come than getting a new one.
P.S. We're partial to the Water TechniX Atomic Salt Water Chlorinators, they're designed and built in Australia, and they have all the features that are commonly only found in other models that are $200-$300 more expensive!
