Your 4-Step Recovery Process
Follow these steps in order β sequence matters as much as the chemicals themselves.
Test & Balance
pH must be 7.2β7.4 before anything else. Above 7.6, chlorine loses up to 80% of its effectiveness. Use test strips and pH Down first.
Brush & Shock
Scrub all surfaces to break algae's protective slime layer. Then add Oxi Shock to oxidise the bloom. Always brush before chemicals.
Treat with Algaecide
Wait 10 minutes after shocking, then add algaecide to kill remaining spores and prevent regrowth. Never mix shock and algaecide at the same time.
Filter 24/7
Run your pump continuously until water clears. Backwash or clean your filter every 6 hours. Add clarifier to speed up the final clearing.
Sand / Media Filters
Run 24hrs. For very cloudy water add Flocculant β recirculate 2hrs, pump off 24hrs, then vacuum to WASTE.
Cartridge Filters
Do not use flocculant. Run 24/7 and clean the cartridge every 6 hours as dead algae will clog it rapidly.
Cloudy After Treatment? That's Normal β Here's Why
That white or grey haze after treatment is dead algae particles suspended in the water β it means the chemicals are working. Add a Sparkle Pill clarifier (included in the bundle) to clump those particles so your filter can remove them. Keep backwashing your sand filter or cleaning your cartridge frequently β you'll be surprised how much gunk accumulates as it clears.

Never add shock and algaecide at the same time. Wait 10β15 minutes between applications so each product works at full strength without cancelling each other out.
Brush Before Shocking

Run Pump 24/7
