Water TechniX Utopia Operation Modes

Silent Mode - Uses the least amount of energy while keeping your pool at a stable temperature range. Use this mode after your pool has reached the desired temperature and you want to keep it at that way. The fans will run on low power, reducing the noise output as well as the overall energy usage. Perfect mode for when you’re not using the pool for extended periods of time but you want to maintain a ready-to-use temperature for your pool. 

Smart Mode - Our recommended usage mode for the Utopia pool heat pumps. Smart mode will keep your pool to your desired temperature without any additional input from your part. Set the temperature and enjoy perfect pool temperatures year-round. The Utopia will chill your pool down to the correct temperature if it gets too warm and it will heat your pool up when it gets too chilly, keeping your pool temperature at the perfect levels. It will even go to power saving mode when the perfect temperature is hit and it will go to power mode when needed.

Power Mode - We recommend using this mode when starting from a cold pool and you want to get to the swimming temperature as fast as possible. This will consume a fair bit of electricity but it will get your pool heated (or chilled) in very little time. 

Note: The Utopia will not regulate water flow or function when the pump is off so ensure that your pump is running while operating the heater. This is best paired with the Water TechniX VorteX ECO Pool pump so you can keep your pool water flow running without spending $$$ on pump bills.

All models are single phase and without power cords. A 10 amp AU plug power cord can be installed by an electrician for the 9kW model. A 15 amp AU plug power cord can be used for 11kW & 15kW models, and 18kW and above should be hard wired​ by an electrician.​

Please note - all heaters require a bypass valve manifold (not included) to regulate the water flow via the heater to be classed as correctly installed. Not installing a bypass valve manifold will void the warranty.

This Controller allows your pool pump to run outside of normal filtration times. It allows the heat pump to turn on your pump to heat, while having the ability to *not* switch on your salt chlorinator, etc, causing an overdose of chlorine.
